Richard Lees Steel Decking, the UK’s leading manufacturer of steel decking solutions has won a contract to help build the largest shopping mall in London. This project, worth £3.6m, adds to the impressive list of prestigious London buildings the Derbyshire based firm has been involved with.

The White City project in west London, set to be completed in 2008, includes a new rail station with a link to the tube and parking for 5000 cars. Main contractor Multiplex and steel fabricators Severfield Reeve, had no hesitation in choosing Richard Lees Steel Decking to supply and install 180,000 sq metres of Holorib profile for the project.

For Richard Lees Steel Decking, Dr. Chris Hampton, Director commented, “ The technical discussions and specification requirements have been refined over the last two and a half years. Our Holorib profile was chosen because of its versatility and fire resistance. The need to retain flexibility in floor design for retail developments and the need for shallow slabs made this profile an obvious choice. Delivery and installation will continue until 2008. It’s great to add this to our portfolio which includes such London landmarks as More London, St. Mary Axe, Canary Wharf and Tate Modern.”
